Bitter dark chocolate from our own small-scale production in Togo. The team at gebana Togo produces the bars entirely by hand. Producing chocolate where its main ingredient grows is still a rarity, as cocoa from West Africa is typically processed into chocolate in Europe. With our project, we contribute to retaining value creation in the country of origin and building local know-how. Our long-term goal is to expand and optimise production in Togo to produce more chocolate of better quality directly on-site.
The high cocoa content of 80 per cent provides intense fruit flavours with notes of red berries and morello cherries. A harmonious bitterness rounds off the taste.
Due to the simple production method, it is not quite as meltingly smooth as Swiss chocolate. Each bar weighs 75 grams.
