Wild apricots
Organic
Uzbekistan
These organic apricots grow wild in the regions of Samarqand, Tashkent and Kitab in Uzbekistan. The organic fruits are smaller and sometimes harder than their cultivated counterparts, but have a more intense and rather sour taste. The sun-dried apricots are neither sulphured nor sweetened. They may become slightly sugared on the outside, giving them a whitish surface.
Storage & shelf life
Dried fruit can be stored at room temperature well past the best-before date in a tightly sealed container away from light. They only become slightly harder after a few months. Before using them for baking or cooking, you can soften fruit that has hardened by placing it in some hot water for a few minutes.
