Dry-roast the ground cashew nuts in a pan, let cool. Dice the marzipan very finely.

Mix marzipan, butter, sugar, and cream well. Stir in Flour (1) until the dough becomes crumbly.

Mix Flour (2) with the roasted ground cashew nuts. Add salt.

Combine both mixtures and knead.

Form rolls about 3 cm thick, pressing everything together very firmly. Wrap rolls in foil and chill overnight.

Halve the cashew nuts lengthwise.

Cut the rolls into slices about 0.5 cm thick. Brush with beaten egg yolk. Press a halved cashew nut onto each. Sprinkle a little cane sugar on top.
8.
Bake at moderate heat for about 10–15 minutes until the cookies turn light golden brown.
