But now the rain won9t stop! At the same time it is unusually warm for the season. The high humidity and the heat are a very unfavorable combination for our dates: they begin to ferment on the tree and fall to the ground. The farmers can harvest only a little; they lose yield and thus income.
Even though the situation is not entirely simple, we are confident: the staff of gebana Maghreb are working to procure the best dates. Buying in is challenging: date prices are rising, especially for the good quality. They should be fully ripe, but not overripe, fresh, soft and attractive for gebana direct shipping. There are only a few of these dates because they are very delicate and suffer particularly badly from the rain.
Although the heavy rainfall is unfavorable for the dates, it waters everything else in the region. Since water is usually scarce on the edge of the Sahara, we rejoice in that instead.
