What is your job?
I am responsible as "Directeur d'exportation" for everything from receiving the raw goods to export. So I am in charge of the entire production and the organization of the export of mango and cashew.
What surprised you when you started at gebana Afrique?
The size of gebana! I thought gebana was purely a Burkinabé company; I didn’t know there was a parent company in Switzerland and several sister companies worldwide.
What do you like about the work?
I like contributing to the development of the country with gebana. 400 people work with us and over a thousand farming families supply us; that is important for Burkina Faso. The management also builds on relationships with people, which I like.
And what is the biggest challenge in your job?
Improving product quality. And we must improve the company’s profitability. Delivering consistent quality is part of that, but there are also other options, for example increasing the production capacity of mango and cashew or developing and producing new products.
Thank you for the conversation and all the best!
