“Weltweit ab Hof” now also in Eastern Switzerland

The launch was successful! Since January this year, a gebana tower has been installed in the Weltläden in Romanshorn and Altstätten, giving customers the opportunity to learn about our concept and taste our delicacies – and of course

At the end of 2015 we took our first steps into brick-and-mortar retail: in the Kaiserhaus in Bern we seized the opportunity of interim use and opened a pop-up store. Until then we had no experience with a shop concept and were all the more eager for customer feedback.

And it was extremely positive! Customers liked the idea of presenting products, among other things, on transport pallets and that we relied on natural materials and simplicity in the furnishings. This immediately conveyed the feeling of "worldwide direct from the farm."

After a year of learning and gathering feedback, we took the next step: we invited selected Weltläden to join us and together developed a concept for presenting gebana in those shops. When the idea was mature, we moved on to planning.

As a result, since early 2017 there has been one gebana sales unit in the form of a modified stack of pallets in the Weltladen Romanshorn and Altstätten respectively. Customers can learn about gebana there, taste products, pre-order fresh produce and either pick it up in the shop directly after harvest or have it delivered to their homes.

“We are very satisfied. The furniture is unique, the products stand out for their quality and price. Our customers are pleased with this new momentum.” says Monika Angst, owner of the Weltladen in Altstätten. And in Romanshorn people are also very satisfied with the presentation and the response from customers. They are curious and use the offer actively. Preorders for fresh mangoes, asparagus and oranges are currently underway. Why not drop into the two Weltladens!

Next, we want to test our concept in even more stores. Are there perhaps differences by region? Or between customers from urban and rural areas? There is still much for us to discover and we are curious to see how our “Weltweit ab Hof” concept will be received.
