Avocados Hass
Organic
Kenya
Arrival of delivery: June
Order until: 03.05.2026
Fresh avocados of the Hass variety from multiple regions north of Nairobi. The family farmers who grow them do not irrigate their fields – a rarity in avocado cultivation.
Avocados are among the fruits that continue to ripen after being harvested. You will find instructions on how to ripen the still-hard fruit in your delivery as well as here on this page under storage and shelf life.
Note on transport in 2026
The shipping route from Kenya through the Suez Canal is still not operating as it used to. We will therefore continue to fly in the avocados.
We will offset the CO2 generated by air transport with a project at our new factory in Burkina Faso. More information will follow.
How much is that?
3.8 kilos are about 12 to 26 avocados. The number varies depending on the size of the fruit.
When will my delivery arrive?
If no specific delivery date is indicated for a product, we will ship your pre-ordered items during the specified month. For the latest information, please check our delivery schedule page. We will notify you as soon as your order is on its way.

Use & preparation
Storage & shelf life
When stored in the vegetable drawer of your refrigerator at a cool temperature, the fruit keeps for about 10 days. Store the avocados that you would like to eat within the next few days at room temperature in a paper bag together with an apple. If the flesh gives slightly when pressed, the fruit is ripe. Check the avocados for bruises and minor damage as soon as you receive them. If you find mould, remove the affected fruits from the crate.
