Peel the kiwis and cut into cubes.

Split the vanilla pods lengthwise and scrape out the seeds.

Put all ingredients into a pan (including the scraped vanilla pods) and bring briefly to a boil.

Simmer over medium heat until almost all the liquid has evaporated. This can take 40–60 minutes.

In the meantime, sterilize the jar by boiling it for 10 minutes and let it dry well.
6.
Fill the kiwi-vanilla compote into the sterilized jar and seal immediately.
