Fresh organic satsumas from family farmers in Greece. Satsumas are a Japanese variety of mandarin. The fruit looks similar to our clementines, but feels softer to the touch. This is due to an air pocket between the skin and the flesh. This pocket also makes satsumas very easy to peel.
As with clementines, the flesh is divided into 10 to 12 juicy segments and has a bright red-orange colour. Satsumas are, in theory, seedless. But here, as with clementines, it is nature that has the final say.

How much is that?
8 kilos is 48–72 satsumas. The variation is so great because we do not set any size requirements for the family farmers and producers. Nature determines how the fruit grows.

Storage & shelf life
Satsumas will keep in the fridge for about four weeks. If you store them on the balcony or terrace in winter, protect them from frost by covering them with a blanket or placing them in a polystyrene box. Check your satsumas for bruises and minor damage upon receipt. Eat these fruits first. If you spot any mould, remove the affected fruit to prevent the mould from spreading.
