Storage & shelf life
Citrus fruits
Citrus fruits will keep for around four weeks if stored in a cool place. If you store the fruit on your balcony or terrace, protect it from frost with a blanket or in a polystyrene box. Check your fruit for bruises and minor damage upon receipt. Consume this fruit first. If you discover mould, remove the affected fruit.
Avocados
When stored in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator, the fruit will keep for about 10 days. Store the amount of avocados you plan to eat in the near future at room temperature in a paper bag together with apples. Once you can easily press into the flesh, the fruit is ripe. Check your avocados for bruises and minor damage upon receipt. Consume these first. If you discover mould, remove the affected fruit from the box.
