Fresh, purple passion fruit from 18 family farmers who grow it on an average of 1 hectare north of Bogota in the Cundinamarca region. They deliver the passion fruit to the export and packaging company Ocati.Since the late 1980s, this company has become a pioneer in organic fruit production in the region. Today, around 350 employees benefit from a joint savings and emergency fund as well as scholarships for their children.
Together with family farmers, Ocati promotes the protection and regeneration of the rainforest. The company also campaigns for fair wages for agricultural workers and raises awareness of child labour among family farmers.
The fruits are shipped directly to Europe after harvesting. Upon arrival, they may need a few days to ripen further. Once ripe, you can enjoy the passion fruit on its own or use it in a variety of ways. It pairs wonderfully with muesli and is perfect for smoothies, salads, and desserts.
